Dear friends,

Not sure how many of you watched my #EastSideLIFELINE last Wednesday, but it was me reflecting on how much our church and ASP (our mission arm – Avondale Samaritan Place) is moving and shaking this summer.  Y’all … God is doing amazing things that we never could’ve imagined even just a few months ago.  All of this is happening thanks to our openness and willingness and adaptability through rapidly changing times.  We are a beacon for God’s kingdom on our street corner, throughout our Avondale neighborhood, Birmingham, and beyond.  Hmmmm?!?  That sounds a lot like something Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8).  I’m so thankful for each of you, and for our church’s witness … and I’m so proud to be on Team AvonUMC!!!
