Executive Director of ASP

We are seeking our next Executive Director of Avondale Samaritan Place (ASP).  This person is a professional with strong interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills.  They will develop, implement, and oversee ASP’s programs, ensuring alignment with its mission and strategic goals.  Additionally, the Executive Director will manage daily operations, act as the primary point of contact, and drive communication efforts in coordination with ASP’s Board and member congregations.  To see a complete job description click here.  Interested candidates should email a resume, cover letter, and three references to Rev. This position may be full- or part-time.  We are looking for the right candidate and will modify the responsibilities and compensation based on the gifts, needs, and preferences of the most qualified candidate.

Avondale Samaritan Place (ASP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, established in 2013 as a collaboration between Avondale United Methodist Church and Canterbury United Methodist Church.  ASP serves as a community hub for Christian service, providing programs that address the needs of the community.

Director of Music Ministry

We are seeking a part-time Director of Music Ministry.  The primary responsibilities of the position are to provide appropriate music for a weekly service of worship that is aligned to the liturgical and/or scriptural message of the day.  This includes playing the piano to accompany congregational hymns and choral anthems as well as rehearsing and directing the choir.  Other responsibilities include playing piano for special seasonal worship services and contracting instrumentalists and vocalists for special occasions.  All candidates shall be asked to demonstrate proficiency through an informal audition process.  Interested candidates should email a resume, cover letter, and three references to Rev. Organist

We are seeking a part-time Organist.  The primary responsibility of the position is to provide appropriate music for a weekly service of worship that is aligned to the liturgical and/or scriptural message of the day.  Other responsibilities include overseeing the care and maintenance of the historic organ as well as playing for special seasonal worship services, weddings, and funerals as the need arises.  All candidates shall be asked to demonstrate proficiency through an informal audition process. The organ is a 24-rank instrument built in 1930 by E.M. Skinner, Op. 802, and was installed at Avondale in 1941 by Aeolian Skinner, Op. 802-A.
