A Change of Season

Dear Friends,

After worship yesterday, my family drove around the neighborhood.  My kids wanted to see the Halloween decorations on people’s lawns while my husband and I wanted to see all the beautiful trees in their fall glory.  I’m always amazed at the warmth of the colors this time of year.  Every year they’re a sight to behold.

The changing seasons always remind me of the scripture from Ecclesiastes 3 … “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”  My grandmother first introduced me to this scripture as it was her favorite.  And now, it’s my favorite, too.  So much of life is about seasons … life and death … joy and heartache … laughter and weeping … and everything in between.  We all experience these at some time or another.  Today, pause for a moment to be reminded that the God who created the earth and all its seasons is with you.  No matter what season you find yourself in currently, breathe deeply and rest in God’s presence, knowing that you are loved and cared for by your Creator.

Blessings,

Rev. Malinda Weaver
