Dear friends,
I am continuing to pray for all of you during this time. I pray for everyone’s health, both physical and mental … and I pray that all of you are able to experience God’s deep peace. If you are struggling mentally/emotionally and need someone to talk to, please reach out to me. I will help you if I can or connect you with someone who can.
I’m looking forward to a meaningful time of worship with you all tomorrow morning at 11:00am. The Zoom link to join is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/610630382. Also, feel free to bring items with you to worship that may help center you in this time of prayer and praise. I recommend bringing a Bible and a candle(s) to light when we begin our time together. Our scriptures for tomorrow include: 1 Peter 1:17-23 and Luke 24:13-35.
An update on our worship for the next few weeks … we will continue to worship via Zoom through at least May 18. This is the recommendation from our Bishop and her cabinet, and I am in complete agreement. Although we all miss worshiping together in person in our beautiful sanctuary, the health and safety of all people is more important at this time. God values all life, and we do, too.

The Bishop and her Cabinet have decided to appoint me to serve as the Pastor of Avondale UMC for a fifth year which begins July 1. I am thankful for this opportunity to continue in ministry with you all here at Avondale.
Virtual Bible Study
We’re going to be offering Bible Study via Zoom on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm beginning May 6. Our very own Joyce Couch will be teaching this study each week via Zoom with other teachers joining in over time. We’ll email you daily scriptures each week to read prior to the study. However, if you’re unable to do the reading, don’t hesitate to still come to the study. Joyce is a great teacher and will bring you up to speed quickly.
