Stair Tutor

Start the Adventure in Reading (STAIR) is a tutoring ministry working with second graders from Avondale Elementary School who need intervention to develop reading skills. Training and materials provided; materials are built for use by volunteers. You do not have to be a teacher to be an effective tutor.

What’s involved?

• Work one-on-one with a student using provided materials
• You will have the same student throughout the year, so you have an opportunity to provide encouragement and build a mentoring relationship
• Serve either one or two afternoons per week
