Welch guide us theough a study of God's covenant through Abraham following the theme "God Establishes a Faithful People." God promised Abraham that through him all the nations of the earth would be blessed. That promise was passed on from generation to generation until it was ultimately fulfilled in Christ. The lessons from this quarter are taken from Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Galatians.

Book: Close Enough to Hear God Breathe by Greg Paul
 Teacher: Jim Fenstermaker
Have you ever watched a group of 4-year olds sing "Jesus Loves me this I know..."? The innocent belief is amazing! When you're 4 years old, you know with absolute certainty that it's true--Jesus does love you! But, as we grow older, our certainty about God's love sometimes gets a little murkier. As we grow older, we know some of the dark junk that passes through our brains and we know that sometimes we're downright unloveable. We know how angry we got at work when that jerk.....and don't get me started on the unlovable things I said and thought about that guy who cut me off on the highway this morning! And the more unloveable we feel, the easier it is for us to distance ourselves from God and convince ourselves that we're so remote from God that He couldn't possibly care about me!
In his book, Close Enough to Hear God Breathe, Greg Paul reminds us again and again that no matter how gnarly and unloveable you sometimes feel, you are, and will always be God's Beloved --His Precious One... No matter how far you think you've removed yourself from God, you're never too far away to return and He's always right there wanting to hold you 'close enough to hear Him breathe'. Join us to begin discussing this book on January 15th in the Cayley classroom.

Lenten Sermon Series: 24 Hours that Changed the World
No event in human history has been so influential as the crucifixion of Jesus. The 24 hours that elapsed from his last supper with his disciples to his death on Calvary would have been the most agonizing, scary, and arduous of Jesus' life. Each Sunday in Lent, we will consider in detail one aspect of these final 25 hours and gain new insight for what it means to follow Jesus.
